To be effective a public speaking presentation only requires a simple structure. It is easier to present and to be understood by the audience.
The most simple structure is in 3 parts an introduction, a main and a conclusion to the presentation. This is all that is required to have an effective presentation. Anything more involved may confuse the presenter and their audience. An effective presentation effectively conveys the ideas and information to the audience.
An effective way to think of this structure for a simple and effective public speaking presentation is as follows;-
1. Tell 'em what you are going to tell 'em
2. Tell 'em
3. Tell 'em what you just told 'em
The idea here is not to have a very complex structure and layout to the presentation. Anything more complicated than simple structure can be difficult to follow and diminish the effectiveness of the presentation.
