Do You Have A Purpose To Your Public Speaking Presentation

When you give a public speaking presentation it is important to have a purpose.

Without a purpose, a presentation it is like a ship without a rudder - you and you audience achieve nothing. It has wasted both your time and the audiences.

The selection of the purpose also helps determine the type of presentation you give and how it is presented.

The general purposes of a public speaking presentation are - to inform, to explain, to persuade or to entertain the audience. In helping determine the purpose it is important to consider - What response do I want the audience to take after the speech? It could be to purchase something, to give blood, to comprehend rocket science.
